The Invisalign Treatment Process

Our board-certified dentist has conducted Invisalign treatment since 2000.

Orthodontic Consultation

We'll first assess your candidacy for Invisalign treatment. Along the way, our dentist will get to know you and your goals, so she can truly tailor your care to your unique smile.

Treatment Plan

Before you make your decision, we'll explain your case and treatment options. This allows you to know ahead of time how long the process will take and what it will involve.

Smile Scans

To make the most accurate clear aligners possible, we will take video-like scans of your smile, including your teeth, bite registration, and gums. Our 5D iTero scans are all quick and digital—a big change from putty impressions that used to be standard for orthodontic treatments.

Aligner Creation

Once we have your scans, it's time to make your custom clear aligners using advanced Invisalign technology. This process can take a couple of weeks.

Receiving Aligners

When your aligners are ready, we'll call you back to our Coral Gables dental office. Before you leave, we'll have you test out your first set of aligners. We'll also inform you about aligner care and treatment processes, as well as answer all your questions.

Wearing Aligners

The next step is all you. Remember, with clear aligners, the effort you put into wearing them directly impacts your results. You should wear them for at least 22 hours a day, taking them out only for meals, dental care, and the occasional special event.

Follow-Up Visits

Our dentist is detail oriented. She likes to have patients return for a follow-up appointment to make sure they're wearing their aligners correctly and to make any corrections to the treatment plan if necessary.

Regular Checkups

To make sure that your treatment is progressing well, we'll see you for regular hygiene checkups every three months. This allows us to make any changes to your aligners, as well as answer any questions you may have.

What Happens if I Lose an Aligner?

No need to stress! Our dentist advises keeping all your aligners somewhere safe and dry until your treatment is complete. That way, you can just pull out the previous aligner and wear it until we can make a new one.
